Pink Elephant Car Wash with Exterior Express Tunnel

Located at 3175 56th Street in Gig Harbor, the Pink Elephant Car Wash is located at the northeast corner of the intersection of 56th St and 32nd Avenue in Gig Harbor.

The first Elephant Car Wash opened on 4th Avenue and Lander Street in Seattle in 1951, and customers recognize the Pink Elephant Icon as a symbol of outstanding car wash service. The Pink Elephant was the first automatic car wash in Washington.

The project involved all aspects of the development of the vacant lot into a commercial automatic car wash. Access was provided from the existing easement located to the west of the property. Sanitary sewer, water, and storm were provided through connection to existing utility systems located within 56th Street. Contour Engineering provided the civil plans with landscape and irrigation. Work included roadway, sidewalk, curbing, driveway approach, drainage, sanitary sewer, water, paving and concrete surfacing. Permits coordinated for this project included General Construction Stormwater permit, SEPA, Building Permits, and Land Use Approval.
