BOOKKEEPER AND PAYROLL COORDINATOR / HR GENERALIST

Contour Engineering, LLC is currently seeking a Bookkeeper with Accounts Receivables, Account Payables, and Payroll duties to join our Administrative Team. The ideal candidate will have between 3-5 years of small business bookkeeping and human resources experience in Washington state. We are looking for a highly detail-oriented team member to manage the financial duties of the company. The ideal candidates will have strong accounting and customer service skills.

About Contour

Contour is a full-service Civil Engineering, Land Surveying, and Land Planning consulting firm located in Gig Harbor. Contour was formed in 2006 by Brett Allen, P.E. and has since grown to 34 employees as we look to further expand. Our work spans across the Puget Sound as well as into Eastern Washington.

About the Position

This position will be a part of Contour’s Administrative team and will report to the owners of the company. Work will be completed in-person at our Gig Harbor office, with a future option to work remotely part time once established with the company.

Qualifications and Job Duties:

  • Performing bookkeeping tasks such as Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Payroll

  • Coordinates with accounting firms employed by Contour

  • Proficiency with QuickBooks Desktop and Intuit, and the ability to learn BQE CORE

  • Knowledge of basic accounting practices and principles

  • Knowledge of applicable local, state and federal taxes and their reporting

  • Previous payroll administration, processing, and experience

  • Performs basic Human Resources functions, which includes maintaining staff files

  • Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting for various programs, such as L&I, Prevailing wage, and taxes

  • Assist with new hire packets, employee contracts, and benefits enrollment

  • Computer proficiency, including knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

  • Effective communication skills; both verbal and written

  • Must have strong analytical and time management skills

  • Must be professional, detailed oriented and well organized

  • Maintains confidentiality of all proprietary and confidential information for clients, the company, and employees

Education and Experience:

  • Associates degree with emphasis in accounting/finance (Preferred)

  • Equivalent years of experience will be considered in lieu of degree.

  • 3-5 years hands-on bookkeeping and payroll experience or any equivalent combination of training and/or experience that provides the required knowledge and abilities to perform the position

We are located in Gig Harbor, a few minutes off the Burnham Drive Exit. There is always plenty of free parking and the site is close to the Gig Harbor North shopping center, as well as the beautiful downtown waterfront along Harborview Drive.
